Pending Strike Action and High School Online Courses

Student course selections for the 2025-2026 school year included the option for students to choose an online course. While we firmly believe in-person learning is most ideal, students may also wish to pursue other options that meet their interests and passions.  Generally students may enroll in up to 10 credits/year with an online school provider at no cost.  To enroll students in online courses parents will need to register them independently and inform the PICS school office.  The course add/drop deadline for Semester 1 is Friday, September 12. Please keep in mind we require students to be enrolled in a total of 35 credits per year.

However, there is a possibility that teachers in the public sector may decide to strike in the coming weeks/months.  If that occurs, online courses will be disrupted. Parents and students may wish to make alternative arrangements with online providers that are not part of the public sector or re-evaluate their choices for the Fall semester.  Below you’ll see a list of some online schools broken down into public and independent providers.
