High School Parents - Grad Survey

Attention High School (Grade 10-12) Parents,
Over the years there have been some changes to how graduation has functioned at PICS. As classes have now consistently reached 30-40 students there may need to be some additional changes as we move forward. Therefore, we wanted to engage various stakeholders as we consider what a PICS graduation may look like for the next few years. Please review the two attachments to better understand our current guidelines and some context for past graduation celebrations.
As we look to the future, we would like your input on some potential pinch points, such as the following:
- What are reasonable expectations for the graduation dinner and invite list?
- What are reasonable expectations for a grad budget?
- To what extent should students/parents be responsible for fundraising?
- Are there any changes to the ceremony format that should be considered (e.g. cap and gowns)?
- What else should the school consider moving forward?
We are in the process of gathering input from all high school students and parents via a general survey (this is in addition to the annual survey completed by the current grad class for specifics related to their grad day: menu, color scheme, song ideas, grad text, etc.). This will allow us to gather feedback from a large audience impacted by any changes made moving forward. We will collect data from students here at school, and we ask that all high school parents (Grades 10-12) complete the survey below:

We’d also like to schedule a graduation information session on October 16 at 7:30 p.m. to:
- Review current/past practice
- Share the survey data collected
- Discuss the questions raised above
- Give opportunity for additional input
The Parent Advisory Council will take this feedback and work with administration to solidify a graduation policy for upcoming school years. This will provide more clarity for everyone involved and give the grad committee the parameters for making decisions.
Ultimately our goal is to glorify God through everything we do, including graduation activities. We appreciate your wisdom and input as we seek to be a blessing to one another as a school community.
