Manna Week is Approaching…

The coin race has officially begun in both elementary and junior high! You can continue bringing in coins until February 16th. Junior High’s motto is “Moving $ to Mufu”, while elementary’s slogan is “Take-Off to Kenya”. Hopefully with enough hard work and dedication, each grade can make it to Kenya!

Manna Week is jam-packed with many special events and activities. Here is what the week will look like:

Monday: The staff will be cooking the entire school a scrumptious pancake breakfast! Come to school ready to eat J. There will also be a staff vs. students floor hockey showdown at lunch recess.

Tuesday:It is heart day! The girls in both Junior and Senior High wear a heart on their shirt. They are not allowed to talk to the other gender or else they must surrender their heart.

Grades 3 to 6 get to participate in games (organized by elementary leadership) in the gym at lunch recess. Get ready to have some fun!

Wednesday:Junior High will be going skiing today. Make sure you dress warm! Senior High will be raising money for the Mufu Home by participating in the lunch box social. The male students will be the cooks and the females will be purchasing the lunches.

Thursday:MANNA DAY! Schedule is below.

8:45-9:30 Opening assembly in the gym and update from Mufu Home.

9:30-12:00 Mini-Olympics outside for elementary students led by senior high and junior high students. There will be doughnuts and hot chocolate available (doughnuts are $1.00 and hot chocolate is free).

12:00-12:30 Lunch will take place in the classrooms. Hotdogs are available to purchase for $1.50 each.

12:30-2:15 Carnival games and rummage sale are officially open! Kindergarten students will have first access to the rummage sale, but we ask that the kindergarten students are only purchasing items for themselves (not for others).

2:30-3:15 Join us for some singing in the music room! Junior High students will clean up during this time.

Important Notice About Manna!!!

If you are writing a cheque for Manna, please write it out to the CRWRF, please indicate in the memo line that it is for Mufu Manna has partnered up with the CRWRF and no longer exists on its own. Instead, CRWRF supports the MUFU home in Kenya. In order to receive donation receipts the cheques must be written out to CRWRF.

Manna Day Rummage Sale Donations

It’s that time of the year again! We are asking for Rummage Sale Donations for our annual sale on Manna Day. If you have any gently used items that you would like to donate (books, toys, handbags, etc) please package them well (as they will be in storage for a few weeks) and bring them to school!

Parent Room Available on Manna Day

On Manna Day there will be a Parent Room, located in the upper elementary end of the school, in Room #113 (the Grade 5 homeroom).  We will clear away the desks and bring in some toys and books for little ones, and chairs for nursing moms.  There is also a sink and a counter.  Please feel free to visit this room to nurse babies, change diapers, park a stroller, or let little ones play.  We hope that Manna Day is an enjoyable experience for everyone!
